The title of Willie's art piece is "Willie's Memories of Chemo."
From Willie's mom:
"Willie is an active and creative 8-year-old who is always quick to flash a smile. He is also a survivor of a life-threatening disease and endured years of intense medical treatments.
Like most children, Willie likes to talk about his soccer team...unlike most children, he knows a lot about chemo, IV's, radiation, shots and surgeries.
His art is an expression of his life. This self-portrait is a 'memory' of part of Willie's life. His current self-portraits reflect a different Willie, ready to take on his 8-year-old world."
When asked what he would most like to tell other kids who are sick, the following is what Willie told his mom:
"I'm sorry you're sick. I know what it's like to be on chemo. Be brave. Your family loves you."
